Job Description:

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director involving the direction and coordination of the medical program of the primary care clinic. The work is performed independently with administrative supervision provided by the Clinic Administrator. The Medical Officer must operate in accordance with the terms and conditions of the various contracts and grants providing the funding of programs and projects.

Job Requirements:

Functions as direct medical service provider in a manner consistent with the current standards of practice and LCDF Clinical guidelines.

Provides for the development and administrative oversight of medical staff through regular consultations, assessing performance, reviewing statistical reports, including assurances that appropriate levels of licensure and certification are maintained. Assists in the development and implementation of clinical staff training activities. Works with medical, nursing and other professional staff members in the development of programs such as preventative medicine, nutrition, sanitation, rehabilitation, mental health, social services, etc. Job Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathy. MPH degree preferred, but not required.

Completion of an accredited residency-training program in a primary care specialty preferred. Licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine. DEA certification. New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification. Valid NM driver's license and current automobile insurance.Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be willing to use personal vehicle in the course of employment and maintain a clean driving record. Must submit to LCDF required background check, TB screen and drug testing.
